“Moonset Manzanita” - To watch the sunrise each morning is a joy in itself, to witness the array of early-morning colors that paint backgrounds for the moon and life makes me grateful to participate in this life.
My life is filled with screens. My phone, iPad, laptop, cameras, iMac and it’s tethered studio display … none of which can make me feel as alive as the colors before a sunrise. Moments that cause me to completely forget the price of my carbon fiber tripod and how unfriendly the sand is to its feet now sinking with each wave.
The only thing on my mind is what I feel in each moment that presents itself. The nudges I feel about when and where to set up. The indescribable feeling of a prolonged gaze at intense colors as they give way to direct sunlight. There’s nothing else like it.
I am blessed with an opportunity to put my four corners of perspective around mother nature’s spectacular art to offer as therapeutic wall decor for homes and workspaces. This makes me happy. It fills me with a purpose that makes rising at 4am much more meaningful. I hope you stare at this image long enough feel how fortunate we are to be alive.
